1. What the app is
MRE CashBook is an offline-first personal finance tracker and small-business ledger by MRE Code. It helps individuals and small business owners record daily cash flow, track debts (creditors and debtors), and monitor product stock, directly on their device and without an internet connection. It is a record-keeping tool — not a bank, a financial institution, or a financial advisory service.
2. Why the app requests Google Drive access
Cloud backup is optional and off until you turn it on. When you do, MRE CashBook requests a single restricted scope:

This scope can only reach the hidden app-data folder that MRE CashBook creates inside your own Google Drive. It cannot list, read, modify or delete any other file in your Drive, and it is not used for anything except your backup.
What is stored there: an encrypted backup file of your local ledger database, and nothing else. The file is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded, and it travels directly from your device to your Google Drive.
What we receive: if you sign in for backup, the app receives your Google account name, email address and profile photo URL, which are used to show which account is connected and to route account-related notifications. Your ledger itself is never sent to MRE Code — we operate no server that stores it.
3. Limited Use commitment
MRE CashBook's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the backup feature you asked for, or where required by law.
4. What we do not claim
No application can promise absolute security, and this one does not. The backup file is encrypted with AES-256 using a key built into the app rather than a password only you know, so treat it as protection against casual access to the file, not as end-to-end encryption. Anyone who can unlock your device, or who can sign in to your Google account, can reach the data. We recommend a device lock, the in-app App Lock, and 2-step verification on the Google account you back up to.
5. Deleting your data
Because the backup lives in your own Drive, you control it. Delete the files from the MRE CashBook app-data folder in your Google Drive, or revoke the app's access from your Google Account permissions page. Uninstalling the app removes the local ledger from your device.
